Recent floodplain data to be revealed at DNR meeting | Home & Garden
An informational open house is scheduled June 26 to provide Dane County residents about flood risk study results.
Officials said a formal presentation will not be made at the 6 p.m. event at the fire department in McFarland, but the recently finished flood insurance study and maps showing areas with significant flood hazards will be available.
Representatives with the Department of Natural Resources, which is hosting the open house along with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, said only areas impacted by the Rock River Watershed Restudy are affected by the new preliminary floodplain data.
The DNR encouraged property owners, estate agents, lenders and insurance agents to attend the meeting.
The McFarland Fire Department is at 5915 Milwaukee St. and the meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the training room, organizers said.
