Employees raise $400 for cardiovascular health org
Stoughton Hospital Cardiac Rehab staff participated in a fundraiser last week to raise money in honor of women for a cardiovascular health organization.
Stoughton Hospital went "Red for Women" to show support and raise funds for the American Heart Association and in a combination fundraiser, collected $400 on behalf of the movement.
National Wear Red Day is an AHA-lead initiative to bring awareness to the prevalence of heart disease in women. The organization asks Americans to wear red in a social initiative, the organization said on its website.
AHA's "Go Red for Women" day is Feb. 1, but the staff celebrated two weeks later after selling denim day buttons and red dress pins to raise money. Button and pin holders were allowed to wear jeans to work Feb. 15.
