Residents invited to celebrate holidays in Victorian fashion | Arts & Culture
The town of Stoughton is inviting residents to celebrate the holiday season in Victorian style with a weekend of events.
Beginning on Friday, residents are invited to the Victorian holiday opening fete. Party goers are invited to participate in the silent auction with proceeds going to the Relay for Life Organization. The even runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Stoughton Fire Department will be lighting its holiday light display at Stoughton Rotary Park on the corner of 6Th and Jefferson St on Friday. The feature is complete with 50,000 lights synchronized to holiday music. The lights will be on through New Year's Day.
Saturday, Stoughton residents are invited to various events including a Victorian holiday arts show, madrigal song carolers and the Nutcracker ballet performed by the StageWorks Projects group.
On Sunday, families are invited to have breakfast with Santa at the American Legion beginning at 8 a.m. and then are invited to participate in the Dickens of a run 5K or 2K walk/run through historic Stoughton. The Stoughton Norwegian Dancers will also be performing at Stoughton high school beginning at 12:30 p.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m.
